Waking up on lazy Sunday mornings though one big task for most of us including myself , must admit travel is one energy dose that automatically pushes you out of this lazy mood of yours . Thinking of a few such travel destinations for a short ride around Bangalore , Kanakapura would be the most favourable choice. Lush greenery and soothing weather welcomes you during the monsoons. With loads of excitement had registered for a ride with the BTC WOW group .The common meeting point was Sarakki signal from where we headed towards Kanakapura .As expected it was a pleasant and soothing ride. The moisture in the breeze and slight drizzle for a while added more freshness to our day. One stop for a picture and another for a yummy breakfast ,then back on wheels to reach the beautiful Chunchi falls. Eagerness to catch a glimpse of gushing Arkavathi just seemed to double as we neared towards our destination. Yes, Arkavathy flows through this village called Chunchi ,dropping down the Chunchi hills along with its tributaries Kumudavathi ,Vrushbhavathi,Suvarnamukhi ,hence forming the lovely Chunchi falls. After a refreshing long ride we reached Chunchi and parked our vehicles at the open space available at a charge of Rs.10 each. Local guides are available and could be opted if requires.The place is quite lonely and had a couple of tragic incidents that had occurred just a couple of weeks before our visit. Nevertheless , Chunchi happens to be one deserving place to visit with necessary safety precautions in mind . A few pics from the ride :
